FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about auto generating garments, size runs from a single design, and auto aligning and nesting pattern pieces onto fabric rolls.
What is CamiForge?
CamiForge is garment automation software for Adobe Illustrator on Windows, built by Dare Weave. It auto-generates garment designs from one master template and one design file, scales them across the whole size run, places names and numbers from a roster, and auto-aligns and nests the resulting pattern pieces onto fabric roll layouts for cutting.
Is CamiForge available now?
Yes. CamiForge is released and available to apparel production teams — the current version is 0.8.3. Contact us at team@dareweave.com to arrange licensing and setup for your production line.
Is there software that can auto align and nest garment designs in Illustrator?
Yes — that is exactly what the CamiForge Finalize stage does. You choose the generated garment file, set your fabric roll width and cutting margin, pick an arrangement mode, and CamiForge automatically repositions and rotates every pattern piece onto roll artboards inside Adobe Illustrator.
Can one design file generate a whole size run of garments?
Yes. CamiForge scans your master garment template, maps every size layer it contains, and then scales and applies your single design artwork across the entire size range automatically. You never duplicate and hand-adjust a design per size.
What is a self-template garment generator?
It means the template describes itself. Instead of you telling the software which sizes exist, CamiForge scans the master template, maps its size layers, and caches that map. The detected sizes then appear as selectable options — the template file is the single source of truth.
How does auto nesting reduce fabric waste?
Best Fit mode treats every piece as one flat pool, ignores size and part grouping, and rotates freely in 90 degree steps to close gaps a manual layout would leave. If you would rather keep cut piles sorted, Arrange by Size groups by size and part and only mirrors pieces at 0 or 180 degrees, preserving grain direction.
What happens if a nested layout is longer than the roll?
CamiForge partitions it automatically. When the nested height passes 50 metres, the remaining garments are split into additional production files named _Part2.ai, _Part3.ai and so on, so each file stays stable to open in Illustrator and to process on the cutter.
Does CamiForge generate jersey names and numbers?
Yes. Import a CSV roster of player names, numbers, and sizes. CamiForge parses it, shows a preview table before the run, and places every value into the correct zone on the correct garment variation.
Can I generate blank garments without a roster?
Yes. Switch the data source to Standard Sizes, tick the sizes CamiForge detected in your master template, and it generates a blank garment for each selected size from the same single design file.
What do I need to run CamiForge?
Windows 10 or 11, a licensed desktop installation of Adobe Illustrator, and a CamiForge operator licence. CamiForge drives Illustrator directly, so output stays in native .ai format with real vector geometry.
What file types does CamiForge work with?
Adobe Illustrator .ai files for both the master garment template and the design artwork, and .csv files for production rosters. Generated and nested output is also native .ai.
Is CamiForge suitable for apparel factories?
Yes. It is built for factory-scale runs — hundreds of variations per job, cached template maps so repeat runs start instantly, project history for reloading past configurations, per-machine installation, and in-app auto-update so every workstation stays on the same build.
How can I contact the team?
Email team@dareweave.com. Dare Weave is based in Malaysia and we are happy to walk through setup, template preparation, or licensing for your production line.
